That’s right…it’s that time of year for

Troupe ‘Hip’notic to host their annual Summer Solstice Hafla!

Date: Sunday, June 12th

Time: Doors at noon, Show starts 12:30pm

Location: Kings Landing Park; 3255 Kings Landing Rd, Huntingtown, MD 20639

***Dancers and children age 5 and under are free.  Non-dancers pay $5 at the door.***

This is a hafla -  a dance party for dancers and by dancers – so performers of all experience levels are welcome and encouraged to perform.  Dance spots are first-come, first served and they usually fill up quickly, so please be sure to reserve a dance spot early!   We’d like to be able to include as many dancers as possible, so if you will be performing in multiple pieces (ex. soloist & troupe) please think about choosing shorter pieces so we can include more dancers.

Dance Time Allotment:
In an effort to give as many dancers an opportunity to perform, please try to limit your song lengths especially when performing in more than one set, thank you!  If your proposed set exceeds these times please contact Becca first to make sure we can accommodate you.

1. Troupes(3+) have a total of 7 mins dance time.
2. Duets have a total of 5 mins dance time.
3. Soloists have a total of 3-4 mins dance time.

Additional Info:

The dance space is inside, carpeted, large and at floor level. The ceiling in Patuxent Hall is really tall so canes, Isis wings, and swords will be fine. There are no side doors from which to enter the stage space, but we will have ‘faux stage wings’ set up at either side from which you can enter if you so choose.  There will be plenty of free parking at the park.  We will still have the changing tent for dancers, and the public bathroom is just across the room.

Tempting Tasty Nibbly-bits:

As usual, we will be providing some munchies and drinks!  We’d like to mention that alcoholic beverages are prohibited at the park.
